Book Review: Ada Lovelace - the Making of a Computer Scientist, by Christopher Hollings, Ursula Martin and Adrian Rice
This work book sale pick is a relatively light-weight biography of Ada Lovelace. As such, I can't say it really added to my knowledge, and perhaps I was a little disappointed by it. It's published by the Bodleian Library, and to be fair, I can see why it's followed a particular path, as it is well illustrated with letters sourced from the Bodleian's collections and other pictures and works. It serves well as a showcase for them, but for education The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage does just as well, and is more entertaining.
